Supported Lodgings
Could you offer a local young person a brighter future?
There are young people in your area who need a little extra support before they feel ready to live on their own. By offering your spare room and some guidance, you can help them build the skills and confidence they need to live independently.
Supported Lodgings means providing a safe and supportive home for young people aged between 16 and 24 as they take their first steps towards independent living. This can make an enormous difference at an important time in a young person’s life.
Some of the young people may be care leavers, whilst others may be separated children seeking asylum. They may need guidance with developing life skills such as cooking, doing laundry or entering education or work.
To become a Supported Lodgings Host, you need to meet a few simple criteria, such as having a spare bedroom and being able to provide a safe and caring home. It is a flexible and fulfilling way to make a difference, as Hosts can continue to work full time.
Hosts receive weekly financial support, with allowances starting at £260.
We offer in-depth training, including specialist psychological support, and ongoing guidance from our friendly and experienced Supported Lodgings team.
